That is quite frankly brilliant, I always wanted to do something like this just found it too tricky.
Its a shame you couldn't make the event horizon blue, I think you could achieve it by editing the hue on the stock tga file (if its a tga not a dds) and writing a new shader for it, but i'm not 100% sure.
But I absolutely love the rings transporter, shame its not as quick as the real ones but still absolutely brilliant feat
