Here is a translucent compass with the NATO insignia. There is a small tritium needle to indicate the direction you are traveling.
The outer ring of the compass was originally from a digital picture taken of a US Army lensatic compass but once converted and shrunken the detail was lost almost completely. Such painstaking pixel perfect work cannot go unsung :)
If you do not have your own mod folder setup for your server then don't use this compass. It is in a dds format and will cause an inpure.pk3 error when you connect to other servers.
I could have made it using a TGA and that would have solved the problem but the .dds type looks much nicer.
We have this as our compass on the {[SACK]}(NO TANKS!!!) server.
