his answer is, it was just there...

the (default game folder)/raw/maps/mp . once inside pick a map, any map,
save it somewhere else, rename it to whatever your map is, put it back in

figured out that it wasnt my map, but the whole game. So i had to reinstall
it, somehow it was corrupt. I had a lot of custom maps that had no ambient
sound or music

did you move it?
i would do a search for it if its missing
I've also got that error before, and discovered that i had moved that
d3dbsp file to another folder

when i try them i get errors from both

well i did what you suggested dragon, i found a map city streets, renamed
it and added that script as you said, and when it loads now i get the map
"backlot"
