Lights start fine, then failValve's Source : HL2 Level DesignThere is nothing wrong with your compile log but it looks like you have
selected to run the game after the compile has finished. If I am correct,
then this could be causing your problems.
Compile the map first and then load it from the HL2 console.

Your second problem could be caused by a very long brush (or brushes).

You would need to make your own shader for the walls to give off light.

The edtior wont work after the update!Valve's Source : HL2 Level DesignThis is happening to everyone after today’s update.
There is nothing you can do to get the editor to work again, unless you are
making a Mod.
Steam still hasn’t fixed the first bug from a few months ago. I just hope
that they fix this bug soon.

Go into the options and check your paths. If it says;
