if you use GTK-Radiant 1.4 you will notice theres duplicate items and incorrect items in the entity list. to fix it, highlight and copy this very long folder name...

C:\Program Files\Soldier of Fortune II - Double Helix\base\scripts

click "Start>Run" and paste the name where it asks you what to open. hit "OK" and the proper folder will open.

the problem is that you have an mp_entities.def and a sp_entities.def in here at the same time. you need to move the one your not currently using somewhere else. so for example if youre making a multiplayer map the only .def file that should be in here is mp_entities.def -- what i do is make a new folder in scripts called "radiant defs" and put the one im not using in there.

ok all fixed! close and restart Radiant [if its open] for changes to take effect.

I have been switching between the sp and mp definition files since I posted this:

From the Past

And it was a long topic [biggrin].

baltic gets credit for finding that bug i wasnt even really using gtk back then :) i have found what i think are some more

do you notice any problem when inserting a model... that it doesnt appear or you have to shorten the path for it to show up?

do you see any duplicate submenus in the help menu?

let me know if you have those troubles or if its just me, i do know how to fix those.

Every Time I click to place a model_static (say tuna), I get this:

Program Files/Soldier of Fortune II - Double Helix/base/models/objects/Hongkong/misc/tuna.md3

What I have to do to see it is shorten the name by cutting off everything up to the word 'model' such as this:

models/objects/Hongkong/misc/tuna.md3

Then it works fine and life is grand!

ok i have made patch files that fix these stoopid problems these are simple to use if you installed to the DEFAULT locations on drive C otherwise you will have to modify my patch files a bit.

it will make your model show up as soon as you choose it
it removes the duplicate help menu if you had one
it also adds a link to modsonline and my new website (nothing to see there yet) in your help menu! hey why not [lol]

the trouble is caused by the GTK installer which generates improper pathnames in all the data files. the only way to fix it is to replace your bad files with ones that were corrected by hand. i will put this online as soon as i write the installation instructions for it.
