Well first i want to thank u for ure nice tutorial Hoovilation ,but i got a little problem with it.
I have done everything as u said in tut.But after the compiling i dont have gt_assassinate.map & gt_assassinate.qvm in my C:\SoF2SDK\base\vm directory.
Is it me doing something wrong ?
I hope u can make a tut also for adding new sounds when someone died or u have shot someone.I saw this in XMOD where u hear a nice YEAH!! if u got neckshot or WHOOOOO for a headshot :D

5.45caliberguy, when you run the .bat file does it stay open for a while and display stuff, or does it just flash open then close right away.

If it just flashes open and then closes right away, add something like this to the top of the .bat file

set path=%path%;x:\path\to\the\sdk\root

And if you don't want to use the all.bat file, just run the gt_whatever.bat file that is in its folder (gt_elim.bat for example).

No its just compiling the whole thing like normal ,only its not generating the files it should do  :(

Okay i found the problem, i needed to edit gt_assassinate.Q3ASM in gt_assassinate folder :laugh:

Doh still doesnt work!!

i got a pk3 file with scripts folder and vm folder
scripts folder got assassinate.gametype
vm folder got gt_assassinate.map & gt_assassinate.qvm

I put this on a server in the map assassinate
And start server with this command sof2mp + sv_pure1 + set fs_game Assassinate + set dedicated 2

But nomaly with othermods running and connecting to server then i need to download pk3 first.But i dont get any message of downloading pk3 or somethin!!
And i dont got it in my SOF2 directory already.
How do i start this gametype anyway? is it g_gametype elim or g_gametype ass

I hope someonelse will try this tut also and post here if it works

You don't actually need the .map file, at least I've never used it and never had problems.

And are you putting it in the /base directory, or the SoF2 directory in its own folder?  As long as it doesn't alter game, cgame or ui, it doesn't need its own directory and can go into /base (you could give it its own directory if you want).

To run it, it should show up as an option when you try to start a server, or call a vote to switch types.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed this tutorial.

Sorry I haven't seen all the posts but to fix your problems, Arkule is right, although you should create a directory called Assasinate under your sof2 folder since you are running your shortcut as sof2mp + sv_pure1 + set fs_game Assassinate + set dedicated 2 and drop your pk3 file in that folder.

Is it normal that the output qvm file size only 44k ?
And what about the file gt_assassinate.q3asm in gt_assassinate folder? need to edit this file to?

yes, for a small gametype...they contain much less code than the other parts of the game.
