Title states it, any way to stop these ...... , got a guy now who has a key gen , he was caught using a wallhack and now he got his hands on a keygenerator. Dont say it doesnt work cos it does sadly. Banned his ip (flexible probably) Banned his ravenguid Banned about 10 PB guids. Any ideas, cant do a rangeban (yet)

I know there are keygenerators out there, but i didn't expect them to work for online play

You can try using the new PB command - PB_SV_BANMASK <IP>

Unless PB/Raven resolve this issue, it seriously reduces the effectiveness of Punkbuster. Permenant bans are no longer possible. I have found more than one instance innocent ppl being banned due to someone else using their CD Key.

I don't think so. I'm not sure exactly how it works. I use it for banning IP's after a player has left. I normally get reports when we have no admins on from some of our regulars about 'bad boys' on the server. I check our player and chat logs and then use the command to ban the lamers if I find the report is true. So far there have been no returns so I guess it works :laugh:

Only useful if the person has a static ip address which is not very common these days.

Well, seems SoF2's days are numbered as people now can easily obtain workin Keygenerators. Ip ban and the new PB ip ban arent of any use with alot of people on non static ip's nowadays. Been fun when u could actually ban people, now its getting rather pointless

We are working on a better solution to the banning problem this week. Unfortunately due to some timing it will not be done this week, but until then we will flick some switches on the master server to make banning work how it did before.
