Srry for posting this here, but maby some 1 knows I've got a headset with mic. i can hear things but mic is not working(cant say anything) PLZ HELP ME AND DONT REMOVE THIS TOPIC

What are you doing to test your microphone? Laptop or desktop? Are you using a soundcard or is the audio built into the motherboard? (is it a soundblaster, realtek, etc) Are you using Windows XP? What type of connection is your headset, usb or other? What brand/model headset are you using?

OK. find the speaker icon in your tool bar and double click it. The last option in this window that pops up should be Microphone. If it's not, click options > properties Then check the bock in the list for microphone and click OK. Make sure this volume control for the microphone is all the way up and the mute is not checked. With those steps, you should be able to hear yourself over your own speakers (or headphones) when you speak. Next, click options >properties again. check the radio button for Recording and press OK Make sure your microphone volume is all the way up and selected via the checkbox at the bottom. Now, if you still can't hear yourself, then you might not have the microphone plugged into the correct connection. Get to the back of your computer and find out if it's plugged in correctly or not. This process depends on they type of audio device you have. Without knowing those details (audio card, usb, whatever), I can't do more details. After all of this, if you still can't get things to work, it's quite possible that your microphone is busted. If you have a friend with another computer, you can test that theory out. I'm sure you'll get more ideas later today when people notice this post.

nope didnt work, but it must be something in my computer settings because this is the second mic thats not working :\
