Hello. Ive been searching all over the place, here, google, and other forums, but have not found any solutions. Upon starting the CoD2 editor, it seems to freeze at Setting Initial State, then goes on to use 100% cpu. There are no error messages. I have read that there are compatibility issues regarding directx 7. My video card is Ati 9600, which ive looked up as being 100% dx9 compatible. I also have installed latest drivers, directx and .net 2.0. Has anyone else experianced this at some point? Thank you in advance,

i would hazard a guess that you have ticked it to load all the textures (not filtering any) you can fix this by uninstalling the editor - then cleaning the registry of any cod2 radiant entries reinstall and it will be like it was just installed

The installation was fresh anyway but ive uninstalled the tools, and the game, checked for registry entries (none) and reinstalled. ALl in default paths. Its really odd because it freezes loading, makes the default windows error sound, and thats it.

I had a similar problem awhile back first install. I had to dnld and instal a file d3dx9_27 and placed it in the system files and it works fine now. Its a dll for direct draw apps.

All of my dlls are in place, which is the strange thing. From what ive been reading, everything is as it should be. Would it have anything to do with a sound driver by any chance or a missing sound dll? Or is it just bad luck on my part.
