Yeah, a change would be nice. Not necessarily anything major, but maybe making everything seem more unified, instead of being in slightly darker boxes. Also, would you think of changing the logo at the top? (not that it's bad, just a thought)

is it possible to have dynamic resizing of somesort. everything looks all compressed on a widescreen monitor - the pages actually only fill half the screen

No, the logo will remain. Maybe we would incorporate the stacked design that we have. Otherwise, no change.

We won't have resizing because that would mean some pages would look awful while others might look great... all depending on your screen resolution. However, the site would be built wider since most of us now have beefier resolutions.

Less clutter on the many page... the front page needs more photos of mods/maps
I agree with less clutter. As for pics, we show all we have. We accept gallery entries and Project updates. But there aren't enough additions to change it often enough. Maybe a pic-of-the-day... as long as it's not overwhelming like you mentioned.

You could have drop down menus
If I can figure out how to make dynamic drop-down menus that include the forums and that would not slow down the site.. then absolutely. I don't want to slow down the site because the menu has to check the forum database for forum link updates. Maybe more administration and less dynamic programming.

Keep the ideas coming. I'll start conceiving something and we'll see what we can do about it.[thumbs_up]

The only problem I have with the current design is that the favicon is too big (in terms of filesize) to work properly with Firefox. It looks fine in the address bar, but save it as a bookmark and you just get a random (in my case Google) icon.

e.g.

*edit* got the link wrong - was supposed to be clickable so you could actually see it.

Thanks. I changed the icon. From what I read, it needs to be under 16k. The original was 24k. The new one is now 1.12k.

*edit - to refresh your icon I did a couple things. Not sure which one fixed the problem.
- deleted and re-added my bookmark.
- cleared my browser cache.
- reloaded the page.

Why change it? I love it how it is. And if you change it.

Please don't make it dark.

The site is welcoming, but kind of overwelming with all the links around the sides. A way to collaspe some of the boxes would be nice(i.e. Tutorials, Members online)?

Although not slowing down the server is nice. Why is there only one picture on the Homepage(the Banner). How about some sweet new graphics(i.e. background, inside the tables, etc)

I think that you should take into mind the whole layout. I couldn't do without the "In the forums" module, so keep that there whatever you do. Try to make it cleaner I guess I am saying. The little thinks can make the website better. Redesign the "Your Membership" part and make the left menu a little more innovative. I always liked the idea of an input box that you type into and click find and it will find any related pages for it. Like if I wanted to learn how to map I could type "hl2 mapping" and it would find the best match and then load it automatically. Kind of integrating the menu and the search. The modsonair dark style is nice. Take web 2.0 into consideration using technologies availible. More flash, javascript, etc. Create.

I think we should have an option in our profile whether or not we want to see the news grabber, and maybe make the news grabber the same layout as the normal news
