I made my first map. Its simple, just a main platform and one building you can go in. I entered in all the worldspawn values before i started the map. I tried making a light in one of the corners of the building but it isn't showing up. I right clicked and added a light, then i made its range 10, and its color to red. Is there something I didn't so that I should have?

Well.... the first thing to check is if your light compile went ok... this can be done by checking your compile log.

How to get your compile log:
Right click the black window window.
Select all.
Press enter.
You can now paste it in a text file or post it here.


Now... if that's ok.. the light doesn't actually show up ingame... it's just the origin from which the light starts. Try increasing the range a bit, so it will hit walls.

Is there any other way to get the compile log? I'm using CoDUOMaker and when I build the map the command window comes up and it compiles quite fast. Its hard to click and select it all before it closes again.

Yes, follow the compile tutorial on this site..

I've never used CoDUOMaker, but maybe you can set a pause command somewhere, to tell the compiler to wait after compiling?

If its like any of the front end programs that run the compiler
it should make a .bat file somewhere in your cod/uo folder for the tools,just open it in note pad and add the word pause at the end of the script.I don t have uo installed any more so not to sure on folder, but i made my own .bat files using notepad.
