Ok i'm VERY new to mapping, i've made my terrain and skybox and 1 spawn point for deathmatch and my worldspawn. so of course i decide to test it out to see how it looks. And when i hit Build Fast File it comes upwith the following: Fastfile 1 of 2, "mp_helmand2": [ver. 5] process... ERROR: Could not open 'maps/mp/mp_helmand2.gsc' ERROR: failed loading 'maps/mp/mp_helmand2.gsc' of type 'rawfile' ERROR: Could not open 'maps/mp/mp_test_fx.gsc' ERROR: failed loading 'maps/mp/mp_test_fx.gsc' of type 'rawfile' ERROR: Could not open 'maps/createfx/mp_test_fx.gsc' ERROR: failed loading 'maps/createfx/mp_test_fx.gsc' of type 'rawfile' link...compress...save...done. Fastfile 2 of 2, "mp_helmand2_load": [ver. 5] process... WARNING: Could not find 'maps/mp_helmand2.csv'. link...compress...save...done. Press any key to continue . . . I go to run the map and it loads but immediately switches to backlot. That really isn't the problem, it's the fact that it can't find my "helmand2.gsc" file and when i go to my raw/map/mp folder, it's nowhere to be found only my helmand2.D3DBSP...please someone help me i got 2 weeks until i go on touri really wanna get this done thanks in advance

I haven't tried making maps on COD 4 as of yet so I don't really know where it stores the files. Have you tried the Windows search function and search specifically for "helmand2.gsc"? or just "*.gsc" and see where all of the .gsc files are stored?

I have indeed but no joy, i think it would be safe to assume that CoD4 Tools would have created one automatically upon saving my map, but obviously not.

What helped me is simply making a file in the same directory, named .gsc. In this file I put in the following code: Code: main() { maps\_load::main(); } This worked for previewig - for MP you will have to do more, though. Check out the contents from mp_test.gsc. Edit: And yes you would think that the mod tools make an own, simple gsc file for "running" the map as a preview at least. Well they don't (yet). edited on Feb. 3, 2008 12:31 pm by Lukio
