So I've been building my map and compiling it pretty regularly, and now that I've gotten to almost a finished point on it and I've taken care of any errors or warnings during the BSP phase of compiling, I try to compile reflections, and I get an error from CoD4:

ERROR:
script compile error
bad token 'y'
ybm (not the exact characters, using nearest)
(see console for details)

Then, I open up the console like it says, and all it shows is a huge number of sounds that are missing, I check those folders and indeed they are missing, and none of the regular mouse over button sounds play either, but if I run the game, they play fine.

Also, I get a Warning in the console that it can't find the csv file for my map, I dont know what that it or if it ever had one.

I'm thinking the only way to fix this is to do a reinstall, but I've been working on this map in one sitting and not sure how sounds are disappearing, specially when I dont have those errors when I play anything else.

Also, the console version thats being used during the compiling is either 1.0 or 1.2, instead of when I'm playing the game its 1.5. Thanks in advance!

anyone? I reopened the mod tools zip I have and those sounds aren't there, I'll include a very small portion of the error messages:

Error: Can't find map maps/mp_classified.d3dbsp
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/weapons/kar98_rechamber.wav' not found
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/weapons/shotgun/mrk_12ga_shotgun_pump1.wav' not found
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/weapons/shotgun/wpnfoley_shotgun_load3.wav' not found
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/misc/bush_mvmnt01.wav' not found
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/misc/bush_mvmnt02.wav' not found
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/misc/bush_mvmnt03.wav' not found
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/animal/anml_dog_fence.wav' not found
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/animal/anml_dog_bark01.wav' not found
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/animal/anml_dog_bark02.wav' not found
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/animal/anml_dog_bark03.wav' not found
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/animal/anml_dog_bark04.wav' not found
ERROR: Sound file 'sound/animal/anml_dog_bark05.wav' not found

theres probably another 200 or so sounds that gives errors to after that, then finally:

Error: Missing soundalias "music_mainmenu_mp".

again, I get zero errors or warnings during the compile BSP, once I compile reflections, everything goes to hell.

I have run into this problem myself. If I figure out how to fix it I'll let ya know. I'll search the forums a little more too just in case someone else already posted a solution. I've been working on the map a lot in the last few days and haven't had this problem until now.

I believe I've figured this out, you should only have the csv that the game creates through the compiler, if you copied and pasted it to the location the fast file builder puts, it creates this error, its expecting a different csv (content wise) even though its the same filename

i kinda get you.. what I did at one time was because of so many duplicate lines that I kept appending to the Zonefile... I took it all to a text pad, removed all duplicate lines leaving of course just one of the lines. Or do you mean, maybe there is duplicate csv files.. What if I delete the CSV file and recompile etc...

Where is your csv file and could I ask what it contains...

The only csv file you should be creating will be done automatically through the compiler, that csv will be put in the Cod4MW/zone_source/ folder. Putting the csv anywhere else, when it says so when you build the fast file will throw errors looking for materials. Basically, in the zone_source folder, it knows what its looking for, in the other folder its asking for a different csv file, even though its named the same.

The problem of the missing sound files during reflections [script run time error, cannot switch on undefined, see console...opening console shows missing sound files] - went away after I saved the same map as a different name and recompiled from scratch.
