As many topics as i have read, and things i have followed i am still in-capable of creating a working MG. I followed the tuturial on creating and MG exactly, to get the following error:

"weapClass in weapon info 'saw_bipod_crouch_mp' for misc_turret must be 'turret'"

as my first error message, then i followed that to a post someone made with the same problem as i, with the solution of using one of the the prefab MG's added in the download section i followed that to only get:

"cannot spawn turret 'saw_bipod_prone' which has a script, unless one instance place in map"

as my new error message. Much appreciated for any help given.

Sorry for the ignorance but i am very new to mapping and would love to know how i go about inserting an MG on my Sandbags [sniper].

Please help me.

I had a similar problem. But I have it fixed now...

Couple of things to check:

Is your map multiplayer - if not, then the turret wont work (if you followed exactly from the tutorial)

Is your zone file updated with the xmodel?

Once i fixed these 2 things my errors went away and i had a working machine gun.

All I had to do to get mine working:

misc_turret with these properties:

export: 1
model: weapon_saw_mg_setup
weaponinfo: saw_bipod_crouch_mp

Then in the zone source:

xmodel,weapon_saw_mg_setup
sound,extra,bog_a,!all_mp

and the 'extra.csv' soundalias has this in it:

Excellent all working now, If anyone reading this topic is having the same issue as i did, its because your map is not a MP Map.

I re saved my map as mp_"Mapname".map, and re compiled after bypassing a few errors i eventually got the map working. First main problem was the Map not compiling properly, this was fixed by adding sufficient spawn entries.

Thanks for all your help guys.
