Hey guys, I have been trying to pick apart the barrel with the fire and smoke.

What I want to do is, I have a truck on my map, I want to just have smoke coming...basically out of the hood , as if an over heat. Its parked at a garage.

So I need to know how to put the smoke there, what code to use.

Have a peek at this. You will need to use a different efx file though as that tut is for v.cod

Awesome, got it to work great. Only thing, the smoke kind of goes off to the side, I want it to go more up in the air, reason being, is that it's seeping into the ground, and I have sewers you have access too, and smoke is coming through the ground and through the sewer, kind of unrealistic. Any help with that?

I have a similar problem, can you adjust the x and y angle of the effect in script (x,y,z) direction)

or does it have to be adjusted in effed?

You can either change the angle in EffectsEd, or change the angle of whichever entity it's playing off, if it is.

i made a prefab that uses script_struct (like the barrels with fire etc.), made a small testmap for it, made a smoke effect, added necessary script stuff to my own _global_fx.gsc -> _global_fx_custom.gsc

you can make your own prefabs like i did (check out the script_struct), place them in your map, add this to map gsc:

maps\mp\_global_fx_custom::main(); // Place it below maps\mp\_load::main();

and you will have your own efx, just add them to _global_fx_custom.gsc

mp_chimney.map
prefabs/building_chimney.map

_global_fx_custom.gsc

im trying to get that cloud_tunnel.efx effect working...

do you need to add something to the _global_fx ?

how does it know where to place the cloud?
