Hmmkay i really done some good searching but there seems to be nobody else to have this, but when i select the sky textures from "usage" from the dropdown list, i get only grey in my texture viewer with the names...
Is there a way to fix this?

(Check the screeny!)

refresh textures or

set shader model to 3.0 in your configuration (explained somewhere on the forum)

Yeah, already found this answer:
go to Call of Duty 4/players/profiles/profilename/
open config_mp.cfg
look for Shader Model 2.0 and change to Shader Model 3.0


and this:
Copy config.cfg and config_mp.cfg from \CallOfDuty4\players\profiles and place them in the \main folder. Then make the following changes "seta r_rendererInUse "Shader model 3.0"" and "seta r_rendererPreference "1".

Only one slight problem... there is NO "seta r_rendererInUse "Shader model 3.0" in my cfg's [ohwell]

My COD4 is up to date.
Mod tools is updated to 1.1
And my Graphic card is shader 3.0 compatible....

Nope its not...
Added it, no difference, still cant see the textures in the textureviewer...
Maybe a reboot is required...

But its okay, i could see what the sky looks like when applying it to my sky brush...just have to preview the textures in that way.

Still odd though...

That's supposed to happen. The 2D view wouldn't show you much anyway.

Radiant doesn't show skytextures in 2D view, 'cause they are a bit special (cubic maps?).
