Hi guys, you all know about the red fx sign infont of spawning players if u dont update your zonefile in mapping process... i basicly know how to get rid of that red fx sign ,i just followed the instruction in the wiki but ive got a problem with one of my released maps.everything looks fine on my pc and the map runs without any problems on few other servers. But a handfull other players reported me that they got the red fx thing problem if they test my map on their servers but not if they test in on their pc's :S my question is: Why does the map work on a few servers and on others not and how can i fix that? or is it a severside problem and if yes,howcan they fix it? thanx ;)

Let me know the name of the map and ill add the fix to my serverside file fix for redx/blotch maps for all mods File now is located at my cod4 maps and mods site which under development.Located in downloads,mods. Read me included with file and on dl description 22 maps fixes are there now in a 5kb file server side only MapFixes.zip

thanx for the help m8 :) mapname is mp_uhs_wasteland http://www.modsonline.com/Downloads-full-4328.html im not sure if i understand right the server admins have to download the mapfixes.zip ? can u explain in simply words what i or they have to do? thanx alot

Np at all Read Below For exact Instructions Its Very Simple File To Use For All Server Admins of Cod4 Running Mods. MapFixes.zip Installation 1.To install the map fixes file simply unzip the package youve downloaded. 2.Place the file zz_svr_mf.iwd in your mods/yourmod folder 3.Restart your server to gain 23 new playable maps without the redx/blotch problem anymore :) Uninstall 1.Re move zz_svr_mf.iwd from mods/yourmod folder 2.Restart your Server p.s. Your map is included in the new version of the file ive released this morning so anyone wanting to play this map that couldnt before can easily do so now enjoy. please use IE until I can figure out the firefox bug to dl file from my site ;) 23 maps are listed in the readme included with the file that are now fixed edited on Feb. 26, 2008 09:51 am by lojik

Looks like that you forgot to add the mptype to you zone file. According to the teams you set in your gsc file, you have to add the right mptype to you zone file. http://www.infinityward.com/wiki/index.php?title=MP_Mapping#Setting_up_factions There you will see what line you have to add to your zone file. Without the right mptype your map will run correct with the mods modwarfare or awe, but with extreme or ace you will get that red fx infront of you.
