Hi, im making a sniper map and have added barbed wire as a divider between sides. I would like to make something like a trigger so that if a player enters that brush trigger it inflicts player damage (similar to the underwater damage affect). Can anyone suggest a good tutorial to use of give a rough idea of the trigger damage settings to use???

Thanx

Hello, I couldn't find any tutorials but draw the 'damage' brush inside textures > tools then open your entity window 'n' then for key type damage then for value put like 1 - 100 (1 meaning less, 100 meaning instant death)

Now I am not completely sure if this works, but it's worth a try.

I didnt look into this, but try a search for radioactive fields. I know a bunch of users were adding this to their map, which would inflict damage if players were in the field. I am sure that if you look at this it will tell you what brushes to use and how to set the damage accordingly. Just place it on your barbwire, vs having it be the radioactive field.

Make a brush with the area you want to injure the player.

Right click in your 2D window and select trigger->Hurt.

After that you can change the amount of damage with;

Key = Dmg
value = any whole number default is 5

Thanks HarkoninVSC, final question. how do i lower the rate of damage, not the amount, just how often the player has damaged infliced upon him.

At the moment its rappid. I would like it to be very slow.

Thanx

If your using a trigger hurt just reduce the damage, time is constant as long as they're touching it.
