Oi, whoa, I typoed bad there. I apologize.
the material,loadscreen needs to be in the zone file
the levelbriefing is part of the .csv in /raw/maps
This file is created by the asset manager
(Although it doesn't have to be - give me a sec and I'll get what needs to be the contents of that for you. I've seen a tutorial by IW stating not to make it by hand, but I've had someone do that when the asset manager was not working for them.)

Edit:
Okay, the file MUST be named the same as your map (mp_mapname.csv) and it must be in the cod4/raw/maps folder (not /maps/mp)
It must contain this data...

Make sure that what you use as the levelbriefing is the same as you named your loadscreen material

Ok well it is trying to load the image but says it can't load image"mp_mapname"

i made an iwd and put it in the modwarfare folder with images folder and in it i put the iwi.

I then ran map in compile tools with this +set fs_game Mods/ModWarfare. of course with it checked.

maybe i am doing something wrong with the image itself.
i saved it as a tga 24 bit file. Wiki says to size it 1024 x 1024 but photoshop defaults to 1024 x 753....

Could that be the reason why it wont load?

Ok, I got it to work! I used dds dxt5 and resized it to 1024 x 1024.
made an iwi in asset manager and made the new iwd.

Works perfect! Thanks SpeedHighway for your help. I hope I can help someone else with the information you have provided me.

yep me too i think materials,loadscreen also go's in csv not gsc ,.....maybe
as loadscreen and minimaps are the only thing that i have trouble with....still ,but some are helping me as we post ill post the fix info when i get it

ok this is whats going on 90% of us can make the loadscreens
ok we all get the same error
when building fast file it says
error can not load material,loadscreen_mp_mapname
error can not find material,loadscreen_mp_mapname

there for map loadscreen will not load even if we have loadscreen in iwd
now this is 90% of us we made the loadscreens and it made materials ,gdt and many more things
what we need is simple A FILE FORMAT ,what files in what order are they placed in you the working loadscreen pc's
everyone not half way ,cod4/folder what it is/whats inside

exmp[mine makes 12 folders ever time i make a loadscreen ,and only half have anything in them and none work?]

i say this because for some reason the map tools work differnt on most pc's even when we are running the same systems
if we could get the materials where they need to be then many of us would have loadscreens "images only iwd's"
thankyou hope some one has a clear idea of what im saying
and hope we all can get on the same track

its a simple fix for us that are having this problem! what files have the materials that go in your fast file, for loadscreen
where are the file's in game when you build ff file
"gdt, material_properties, materials, and images"
this will help many

There should be a "loadscreen.file" of your map in the raw/materials folder & an "iwi" in your raw images folder..
If both of them are there, u should not have a prob..
The easiest way to try it out is: Copy the iwi from the raw/images folder into the raw/mods/custommaps folder.. Then in the compiler, enable custom command, type in: +set fs_game mods/custommaps..
Then build fast file & run selected map..
There are alot of loadscreen.files in the raw/materials folder, just take your time & make sure one of them is loadscreen_mp_yourmapname.file (which should be created with the iwi from the assman convert...)

heres 1 thing i see there are files for the compass that are material.gdf.1.dbg 233 bytes
material.gdf.1.trg 168 bytes

but loadscreen
material.gdf.1.dbg 0 bytes
material.gdf.1.trg 0 bytes

you find these in assetsgtcache

if this is the problem somebody please send me your loadscreen dbg,and trg or a way to get this to work
