I am almost done my map, needed to correct some things for domination game type since it did not work when it was tested, made changes, recompiled bsp and reflections, updated fast file and zone file. Now I have some brushes that are red, some only show red when looking at them from different angles. They were not red before and are scattered through out the map. Any ideas. [banghead] Everything else works now this WTH.

do you have any light source underneath the building. underneath the stairs? If there is a light source, there are things you can do to stop the light bleeding through. You should also have a few reflection_probes in your map. Do you have those? One in every defined area. Inside, outside. in roomes.

yea looks to me u need to put one reflection_probe near the stairs. if that does not work add a light grid volume in that room

I have a reflection probes in all major parts of the maps, I also added one next to the steps and didn't help. The steps are not the only area that the red is showing. There is a section of ceiling, a door sill, and an edge of a metal platform. I also have light grid volume over all playable areas of the map. I had this problem early on and it went away, now I have my loadscreen and compass working now its back and I had recompiled map a few times in between to add fix stuff.

in the three 2 and a half years i have been mapping, i have never seen that problem. The only advice i can give you is to delete those brushes and remake them.

That is kind of strange. One other thing you can try os to put a block of volume_lightgrid over the areas you are having problems and see if it helps. It looks like the light/shadows are just bouncing off certain textures in an odd way for some reason.

Some how I managed to add two spawn points outside of the playable area of my map, and outside my light grid, removed them and all okay.
