hey guys as the topic already explains my problem, here's the mymapname.gsc:

my fx gsc is called: mymapname_fx.gsc

and i took the Singleplayer version of Cargoship.
(And both of the .gsc's are in raw/maps!

Could any of you guys help me please? I'm a mapper --> Not a coder..

what is the name of your map? stealthjob?
If so, why aren't your .gsc files names stelathjob.gsc and stelathjob_fx.gsc (like refered to in your .gsc file).

Also.. you say the rain effect won't work.. what DOES happen? Does your ambient track work, for instance?

gsc's:

stealthjob.gsc
stealthjob_fx.gsc

That's how my gsc's are called..
And I don't even get a single sound or effect in my map..

Error is mostly that it can't find the "maps\_rain::preload(12);" ,or not even the "maps\_rain" ...

I haven't worked with rain before.. but i saw a post where someone introduced the script from Rasta for rain and lot.. though that script was set-up for MP so i just simply changed the "maps\mp\_rain::preload(12);" to "maps\_rain::preload(12);" so that it would be set-up for SP..
And ofcourse, I took the SP version of Cargoship and not the MP version..
I believe that topic was called ''weather for us dummies'' or something like that..

But in my map, nothing really happens.. it's just the same like it was before .. but then with a Not working script..

If it would only be as easy as simply taking out 'mp' from all your scripts...

Check out the cargoship .gsc files and see how IW did it..
Or follow the rain tutorial in the CoD section, that should work for SP mostly.

well i've looked through the files but i don't know how to recognize things for script etc.. i not really ever scripted before.. only for some gametypes. I don't even know for what kind of line i'm searching for..

Isn't there a prefab or somekind for this? And it would help a lot of people if there was a tut for this..

--> could you maybe arrange a script for me? [casanova] Because I don't really know how to script/code and it takes too long time to find out aswell.. I need to build my map.. And not be looking for a line for 5 hours straight..[tongue]

Open the cargoship_fx.gsc file. It uses the raininit function in the _weather.gsc file...

There is no prefab for the rain. But as I said before, you can also try the tutorial on adding rain. It's an MP UO tutorial, but the basics will work for CoD4 as wel, I think. (playing the rain effect a set number of units in front and above the player).

well i took a bit time to find things out here's the outcome:

with this GSC i fixed my MP5 problem and I used the CoD 1 gsc creation tutorial for it..

But this didn't fix anything yet, on the contuary.. It added a problem.. My fire won't work.. BUT: I got a strange thing in my level what I didn't see before, nor did I look there before.. here are a few pictures:

It says right there in the console, that its a missing asset. Looks like you didn't add them to the zone file...

Although I'm coming half way into the thread, thats what it looks like to me.

also if you run that code you need to have a fx file that give basic code and at the bottom you need

maps\createfx\mp_cargoship_fx::main();

and run a fx gsc in your createfx folder @ raw/maps
make a folder if needed call it in your csv
your createfx is differnt set up but calls stock fx that you need sometimes looks like this

ent.v[ "origin" ] = (xxx, xxx, xxx);
ent.v[ "angles" ] = (xxx, xxx, xxx);

you can use this to run many of your fx "thanks to firemanpaul &zelroy"
