ok but why do i need this

??? -> people told me that this should be removed and replaced by another line.. being the

maps\mp\_fx::loopfx("lightning", 10);
maps\mp\_fx::loopfx("rain_heavy_mist", 10);
(this counts for me then)

--> I got the lightning working
-> I got the rain working, but it only rains at the origin's spot!! how do I fix this? I used manickiller and Colmac/rasta's info(btw colmac, i can't find "rasta's rain" prefab/gsc anywhere in the download section? you say you have it uploaded in your thread about it..)
and this

ent = maps\mp\_utility::createOneshotEffect ( "rain_rasta" );
ent.v[ "origin" ] = (xxx, xxx, xxx);
ent.v[ "angles" ] = (xxx, xxx, xxx);

is something i understand half... the "ent.v[ "origin" ] = (xxx, xxx, xxx); "
is the place where the origin is right? --> where is this "ent/v[ "angles" ] = (xxx, xxx, xxx);" needed for?? aka where do i need it for etc?

Do I actually need that createfx file?

--> i can hear the rain, but it ain't producing it.. i tried doing it without a script/origin but then i get the same outcome?

my zone file is up-to-date and has everything in it that it needs as far as I know..

Off topic:
i looked up at IW wiki and found out that i get more accurate info there than the replies i mostly get here about scripts etc.. (no offense) but most info at scripts given here, is mostly "half" --> no explanaition etc..

On topic:
I got my fire working, and my rain aswell.. but the rain is only covering a certain area.. how do i make this bigger, or how do I create a FX which covers the whole map etc etc. --> details!

See below for the link to my smoke and fire fx tutorial over at the wiki. Though it is worded for fire and smoke the principal is the same for the rain fx.

btw with that off topic post, i didn't ment that this website doesn't help, but that most answers are like "question aimed" if you know what i mean..

on topic:

The Caretaker: Do i Have to play the effect more than once, or is there also a way to make it cover the whole map? (without editing the FX via the fx editor)

LPRay: I took a look at your script info there.. Very good i must say :) Though I saw a tutorial on the Iw Wiki today which was for fire only aswell.. and there is this big fire with smoke included.. might wanna take a look at that one..
(It's too big for a little gras fire orso though.. For a burning house: Perfect)

sorry so late ,server ,ts,got hack had system down a day resigning everything .

the angles only works in createfx and it allows you to make your rain come down in any angle you set it
the rasta rain should be in downloads under cod4 ,"the first one " not under maps or scripts
i run rasta rain as my gsc just add your map info under the line
maps\mp\_rain::preload(12);

maps\mp\_load::();

in this script the rain stops in ten seconds
to keep it raining just add
// in front of this line like this
//maps\mp\_rainstop();
to get rid of the rain stoping text add
//iprintlnbold("turning off rain now")

using this script is the fastest way to get started , in the download there should be instructions as well as a
folder oneshot that you add to raw/fx/weather
and a _rain.gsc that you add to your raw/maps
by running this as well as createfx, you will have localised rain and you will have rain on the whole map and in in your createfx you can make it rain harder,"angled and faster in different areas
i also run a mp_mymap_fx.gsc in raw/maps/mp with my gsc that calls the basic fx from leave's to lightining you need this line
level._effect[ "rain_heavy_mist" ] = loadfx( "weather/rain_mp_cargoship" );
this is where The_Caretaker talks about calling the effects that you want using the stock game effects you also need to have the call line in your csv in zone_source
rawfile,maps/mp/_rain.gsc ...and... fx,weather/rain_mp_cargoship
there are more, and they should be in the download

no you dont need the createfx folder for it to rain "you might need it later " works for may cool fx ,not just rain and has more settings than simple mp_mymap_fx

It cleared up a whole part of my scripting problems :) [jumping]
I will be looking for that file and I'm gonna try to make it work..

Isn't that big of a deal that you responded late orso btw..
