So I tried just making a test weapon... Basically I followed this tutorial: here I put the stock weapon files in where they were told to go, but the only difference is, I renamed the weapon file to pt_mp (to test if it worked). I followed the tutorial, but when I fire up the game and /devmap mp_strike.. then /give pt_mp It said, the weapon file must be in an .IWD. So i put the weapons/mp/pt_mp (including the folders) into an .IWD, placed it in the MODS directory I was working in, and fired the game up again. Now the console says it could not find that weapon.

Gotta precache. If you name it to a stock one, they're all precached by default so it'll work. Or, you'll have to precache it in the gametype scripts. PrecacheItem("pt_mp");
