So I followed the tutorial that is in the tut section. I was able to convert my file successfully. The texture I loaded up shows up in radiant. I put the texture into my map, it shows up exactly as it was loaded up. I add the material,custom_texture to my csv line and recompiled. I added the IWI to my iwd, loaded the map up in the mod I put my iwd into and load the map. The textures that were there in Radiant are not in the map. I do not even get a white texture like I have seen described in several posts. Just wondering if anybody has any idea's.

Finally got back to this bad boy so here goes with my setting and what I have done step by step.

Step one took my image and resized it so it would be a power of two and saved it as poster_dread.jpg ( I resized it to 512x128).

I load asset manager up and pull up the materials and create a new entry call dread_title1.

My settings in the Assman are as follows:
Material type: world phong
Sort: default
surface type: paper
Usage: poster
Locales: middle east

Color map settings:
Tile Both
mip standard ( 2x bilinear)*
auto compression

The wierd thing is that it shows up as dread_title1 in the mapping tool but when I search for the IWI i find it under poster_dread.IWI. I put it into my IWD and no dice. Any help would be great!!

This is how I test textures locally.

From OLD MAN WITH GUN:

Quote:
Since patch 1.5 the game doesn't load images from the folder raw/images, they have to be in an iwd file.

Create a new folder called images on your desktop. Copy all iwi files of your own textures from raw/images to this new folder.

Zip the folder images on the desktop, rename it to mp_yourmapname.iwd, and put this iwd file into the folder mods/custommaps.

In the CompileTools check the box beside 'Use Custom Command Line Options' and the enter the following in the box below:
+set fs_game mods/custommaps

If you want to run your map from outside the Tools, the iwd file have to go into the folder usermaps/yourmapname beside your fast files of your map.

I haven't tried converting a .jpg

I know .dds and .tga work

Here's a pic of settings:

In that pic I'm using normal and specular maps but you don't need them for the texutre to show.

Most everything is default settings. Just double check the "Framebuffer operations" settings.

Yes they are default,

As long as all the other settings in the pic match yours (excluding Surface type, Usage and Locales as these shouldn't matter) it should work. The problem may be elsewhere.

Do you have your .ff files in a folder inside the usermaps folder or are you running the map through the tools?

If you can try converting a copy of your .jpg pic. to a .tga or .dds and try it with that.
