Where the game is set shouldnt be the issue, how the game plays, and the quality of the game overall should be how it is judged.

Plus any speculation into whether or not its "pay to play", is just speculation, wait for comformation before panic ensues.

Ya, dont believe the rumors, wait for official words, because sometimes your expectations may rise higher than what the game will actually offer, or you might panic about something that isnt true...
I had that with CoD2 talk...

Anyway, I still play UO and I think it is the best of CoD Series when it comes to gameplay...
I love the big maps, thats the biggest part of my game...

Also I am very happy that Trayarch is making this game and going back to WWII...
Theres are already modern shooters and thay are all fictitious whereas the WWII games are historical, which makes them more interesting...

I think CoD5 will replace UO with great gameplay (hopefully big maps) and great graphics... :)

Well I read what stryder has said. I dont think it will be popular. I heard that you actually have to have a windows live account to play online which is by month, if anyone can get any info on this would be great. I will not get this game if there is a monthly fee. If you look at all the WW2 games today there all mostly dying off rapidly. Also if you look at COD4, Crysis, and many others are still thriving.

someones probably said this but windows live = free pc doesnt have to pay a cent like xbox does.

I am not against it, but not exactly welcoming it with open arms. I enjoy modern games and I am not new and have played COD, UO and COD2, COD4. All I can imagine is another version of TDM, DM RNG in a different theater. I can also see mods being made to make the guns more accurate, duh they are WWII era or red dots on the screens. Game looks sweet, but also see the same dumb AI in the game play trailers. Not real sure I will picking this one up.

The don't have to go far to beat EA at the pacific theatre. Pacific assault was never supported and graphically required more from a rig than was standard back then.

I have faith that it will be good (read: for a year or so) and then hopefully they will leapfrog to Vietnam which has only been done on a big scale by EA. (appologies to vietcong and Men of valor).

I think politics come into play in game making, think Vietnam games have been somewhat suppressed because there are enough people in the world that hated and still hate the war and it can easily be a sore subject.

WWII and terrorists - easy targets. Fair to guess all WWII age people are not playing fps games, so only descendants would have objections of making games from it. Everybody hates terrorists except terrorists (now if we could only figure out how to get terrorists to hate other terrorists...i digress).

WWII is an easy target. It offers some speed in weapons along with a romanced era.

Could/should be good as long as it isn't done by EA.
