[banghead] Whenever I add water to my maps it looks very unrealistic. In-game it shows a straight line between the water and the land. How can I make it so that, the more shallow the water is the more clearly you can see the land beneath it, and also how to make the edge where the water meets the dry land look more realistic? [confused] Thnx in Advance [sniper]

When i did mine i created the shape of the shoreline from terrain (ie the curve beach) making the area of terrain that meets the water quite dense (a lot of vertises)

You can then create your ocean and make it over lap a few rows of this dense beach section.

All you then do is alpha blend the first row to completly remove the texture then leave the texture less and less transparent as you get further out..

Very nice effect, sorry if its a little messy to follow, hard to explain without showing you.

O_O ... what do I alpha blend? the water? kinda confused. Do I turn the water into a simple terrain patch? Could you explain just a little bit more, sorry. [crazy] actually, could you take a snapshot of an example in Radiant if you can. I'd be greatly appreciative. :)

You would be alpha blending the terrain. Closer to shore the less transparent, farther out in the water the more transparent until its gone completely. As for which texture I cant help there cuz i dont have cod2 installed atm.

Also, how do I create grass blades that shoot up from the ground, instead of just 2 dimensional grass texture by itself? I've seen it before. And also, some textures show up as measurement number grids in radiant but as a texture in-game, BUT some of them remain as measurement grids in-game, how do I get those textures to appear as normal textures? [eek]

Damnit! This is driving me nuckin futs! Could someone show me how this is done? Make a sample of a beach with just sand, water, and maybe a few rocks if your generous. I really want to know how to make a good looking beach, not some poo-pooty blue block next to a sandbox. [mad]
