I really can't think of anything diffrent I did on this map from any other map I ever made. I am still messing with the troubled file to see if I can come up with a solution in case, as you said, it should happen to someone again... but nothing seems to work. Im starting to think the file is just corrupt for some bizzar reason.

I suppose that would be the best guess for now. Until we find a solution to this problem, anyone who encounters this same problem can refer to your workaround to get things rolling right away.

i have come across this error as well
what i did was deleted all prefabs and the error went away
what i think it is is there are prefabs that are made for SP
but they are not labeled so
either that or there are certain prefabs that the compiler just dont like
IE the heli prefabs or tanks
cant figure out which one but i think it was one of those that it didnt like

But the compiler doesn't really differentiate between mp and sp map, or does it?

All I've mapped are sp maps, but I think there is something else within these prefabs. Can you tell us which prefabs you used?

Hi GRIM, nice to see someone else has had the same error, although I don't have any prefabs on my map. So its unlikely that was the issue in my case at least.

I'm afraid thats all the light im going to be able to shed
cuz the error happened months ago and I cannot remember what i used
im pretty sure it was a tank or heli prefab
but no garrentees

Same symptoms, but different causes?

I think there are a number of causes for this problem. It would be good to know more of them, if there is any.

EDIT: I just now was reading another post and something came up to me. Could these problems be caused by breaking the maximum model limit in a map? From what I've heard, 1000 models is the limit, and somehow, your map exceeded this. Just as an update. [cool]

I have gone through the saME PROBLEM, NOT FOUND A CURE FOR THE ISSUE JUST YET, BUT MY THOUGHTS ARE THAT possibly you have made the map, compiled it orriginally while working on it, done some changes, found it safe to "save as" another map name. If you compile it as a new map name this is where the error starts. I only know this because I compiled the orriginal map, it worked, I decided to "save as" different name, added a few brushes, saved, compiled and got that d3dbsp error. I went into the brushes I added, removed them, compiled and same message. I can only put this down to "save as" after compiling original map. As for a fix, I haven't yet solved the problem myself.

Perhaps, but I did the same step as you described in one of my maps due to name inconsistencies with the compiler, but I never got the d3bsp error. Perhaps something I did could have made an exception, but as far I can see, I think this is not the common cause. My bet is that there is a minute difference between your work and mine.

I fixed my problem, It was a coincidence that the changes I made with naming files and the error. I have had a good scout around the map under and on top. I found a little red box which was a misc model was under a mesh hiding where I wouldn't have looked, I deleted this and the error was goon... Poof!!! it was magic [thumbs_up];)
