Have a grayscale heightmap converted to a displacement plane in maya. Any help with importing it into cod4 so I can use it as a terrain will be greatly appreciated & result in several new maps available. Read the tutorial on model import, but it's not working for me.
Will be more than happy to give all details of how it was imported & converted.

I hope you know that there isn't any player to xmodel collision in the game. You need to rebuild the whole terrain in Radiant with clipping brushes/patches to prevent players falling through your terrain-xmodel.

Where is the problem? Exporting from Maya to xmodel_export, or converting with AssetManager or what?

Even if it has no collision, that's fine: I can use it to up the patch vertices to match, which will be Alot faster than measuring all the vertices the way I am now. The problem is with export to assman.

Apparently it you can't import to cod4 with the ple. [banghead] Gonna have to finish the terrain in radiant, just with less detail further out.
