Does anyone else think this game doesn't look as good as CoD4? I'm really disappointed in the visuals so far.

I thought the graphics are pretty good. The sound effects seem very realistic. I can't give an overall opinion yet without more game time.

@dobby: good work! did you extract them manually (ff / memory)?

i tried Paulus Dump, but i couldn't get the beta to work at all (my computer is broken and my parent's got no shader 3+) [cry]

Nop, I made a tool which does it for cod4 and then adapted it slightly for WW, you just open the fastfile(s) and it spits out the scripts :D

edit: h0ly tried coddump, says it didn't work and just made an empty folder.

Paulus Dump doesnt work as we have no Miles folder in the Beta. This might also explain the bad quality of the sounds in MP.

I bet they'all have the Miles folder back for Full release [drink]

Ahhh...

I am so confused with Call of Duty now. I mean, I think it's a great franchise, it always has been, but I just feel like somethings missing.

Now before I give people the wrong idea, I think that Treyarc have done a great job with WaW. From what I got to play, it seems like a good reintroduction into the WW2 era for the Call of Duty series of games.

The thing I found, and the thing I discussed with people in-game, is that it just seems like one big expansion of CoD4. I am not really a fan of the play style of CoD4 and this has obviously been carried forward, after all, it seems sucessful among certain players of the game. But the fact that I am reminded of CoD4 when I play the game, bugs me.

I think my problem is that I just enjoyed the older generation CoD games far too much to enjoy the new stuff. The single player campaign is always good, heck I liked SP in COD4, I just don't get that same "rush" when I play the new series, online. I could litterally play United Offensive for 7 hours (and did so, the day it came out) and love every minute of it. Now I can barely play for an hour on CoD4 and really didn't care much for the beta this time round.

I guess the online spark has been lost for me with the gen Call of Duty games. I wish it wasn't so as well....

As for what I saw on the beta, well it's nice to use the old guns again. I still don't like the dogs, but they arn't as bad as I was expecting. I didn't really fun into many and they are easily killed. Saying that, they seem to kill you in an instant as well.
