Although going through the game in the dark can be quite fun (and often give way to small "Eek!" and "Ah!"s), some of us just want a more consistant and readily available light source, without spoiling the fun. For that purpose, a new light mod has come into play and it's in the form of a flare.
An ingenious way to add another light source, this mod puts a flare which actually does light up the surrounding area as it flies through into the game. It replace the grenades so that when you throw the grenade (from now on, it will be called a flare) it will light up and land down on the ground for a few seconds. It has a nice orange glow and emits light pretty well, good for maintaining that scare factor while incorporating some new lights.
If there were any problems to this, it would be the fact that the actual hand grenade model is not replaced with an actual flare model. I'm sure if this was possible, it would be a great addition to this mod and really bring it out of the dark.
