Sliding Door, Rotating Door, Rotating Door with Glass

This tutorial will teach you how to make a sliding door, a rotating door and a rotating door with glass.

First create a room with three gaps where the doors are supposed to be. Then make the door brushes. The first door we're going to do is the sliding door. Press Ctrl+T to tie it to an entity, while having a brush selected. Then bring up the properties and type func_door and select Start Sound in the keyvalue list, click browse and find a good sound for the door. I choosed Doors.FullOpen9! That is a sound to an opening door. You can add a sound to Stop Sound to. Click on blocking damage. Set it to 10. That will make the player get 10 damage every second that he blocks the door from going its path. Click on Move Direction (Pitch Yaw Roll). The little circle represents the direction of the doors path. You can make it go upwards or downwards by clicking on the "1" and select up/down. Click flags at the top of the properties window and select; Use only if you want the player to go to the door and press the use key to open it, Start Locked if you want the door to be locked, NPCs cant if you only want the player to be able to open it, these are the basic flags for doors. Now to the rotating door. Instead of typing func_door you should type func_door_rotating. The keyvalues are almost the same. BUT, bring down the properties window. If you look at the door in the 2D views you should see a little circle in the middle of the door. Click on it and drag it to an egde of the door where you want the doors... what shall I call it?... axis to be! What I mean is the part of the door which will not move, it will stay there while the rost of the door is rotating. Well, last to the rotating door with glass.
. Create your glass and place it where you want it to be. Try to overlap with it. Press Ctrl+Shift+C to CRAVE out the door brush so the glass brush is visible. Now select both the door and the glass and do exactly as you did with the first rotating door. GL&HF! Happy Mapping :)
