How to make a Trashcan or Fueldrum, by -[CyKloNe]-
Thanks to -[CyKloNe]- for the work put into this tutorial.
1. Load a texture for your trashcan, i found mine in shop
2. choose trashcan texture in the viewer
3. draw a squareblock brush
4. adjust the size, height and position untill it looks like a "proper" square trashcan
5. choose from the rooldown menu curve ->more cylinders -> very dense cylinder
6. Well..by now it should look cylindershaped, now press CTRL-N to put the texture where its supposed to be.
(You may want to jump to "the F-steps" here)
7. And there's your trashcan (upside down probably)
8. To get it upside up, press the "x-axis - x-axis rotate button"
9. To give it a top and bottom choose curve -> cap -> normal
10. Dang! That's a pretty trashcan!
For the fueldrum it's pretty much the same procedure, (I loaded the fueldrum textures from hongkong for this tutorial, there are 2 for each fueldrum, a top and a side texture...i guess for the bottom you can also use the top texture...)
Go through steps 1 to 6 from the trashcan tutorial, then go on with the following steps (i'll call them "the F-steps", because it's Fueldrum-specific..Blahblahblah..)
7F. Now you want to have a top and bottom, now here you still choose from the rolldown menu curve -> cap -> normal
8F. Now click on the side of your fueldrum in the 3D-viewer...if all goes well, you should now only see the top and bottom selected in the 3D-viewer.
9F. Now choose the fueldrum_top texture in your texture viewer..the looks of the bottom and top of the fueldrum should now automaticly change...but it still looks kinda weird i'd say...
10F. So press "S" (surface inspector) and press FIT...now the top should look just fine (don't forget to push APPLY, or else you can start all over) and then OK.
Well that's it.. Have fun with it! |
