If your model does not already have a collision map you can make your own.

-Load the model and make sure it has an origin of 0,0,0
-Textures - tools - clip, clip the shape of your model.
-Delete the model
-Save map as the exact name of the model (ie, if the model is called static_tank, then your map will be called static_tank.map)
-Save this map in the 'collmap' folder.

Now when you compile your map the collision data will automatically be added.

Not true, only models in the playable area of your map that do not already have a collmap.

Just adding to Rasta's description of how to clip a model, COD4 Radiant is slightly different than previous versions of Radiant in that you mostly use misc/prefab rather than adding a model via misc/xmodel. Doing it this way, the model is already has a clip added.

I can't remember the exact wording of the top of my head but on the toolbar you want to look for a E in a circle that read 'allow selection of entites' or something similar, make sure it is not pressed in.
