Apparently you can make your own L4D level using Google Sketchup. I don't know why you wouldn't just use Hammer... but hey. whatever. http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/7_awseome_sketchup_tricks?page=0%2C2

Hehe yeah. That feature has been available since the authoring tools came out. I think you can actually import things from Google earth into sketch-up and then into hammer. So I guess it would be useful for that.
