Hi guys, busy working on map, quick question.

Has anybody figured out you to add a custom string to a info_game_event_proxy? For example my map is pretty complicated with a lot needed to be done in order to progress, without it there is little chance a new player would figure it out.

Even list example (accurate to map so far)

Enter elevator (which is easily visible so not too much a problem)
Close loading bay doors (easily missed unless notified)
Restore power (without notice you cannot progress through the level)

That's the first few to give you an idea but im having little luck with the proxy, because the only string value is 'name of event to generate' not useful when i can even find an even list in the game directory.

So if anyone can guide me in the direction to add custom strings or even a list of stock to atleast get started.

I used an instructor hint. It should let you use a custom string.

The annoying thing is you need to have instructor hints turned on in game options to see them. Also I've found that even if you do have it turned on the creator of the map can never see them. Everyone else who plays it can just not the original mapper for some odd reason.

The reason you can't see them after a while is each client has a limit, you can see it in one of the config files (forgot which one) if you delete that config you can see it again.

Bit annoying though as i would prefer to have it always visible to give a sense of direction, can't find much info on the net other than a few stock elevator or rescue strings.

Also may as well as here, have you had any luck setting up a panic even with a logic timer? i want to add a sort of mini finale/crescendo, ie. you trigger the event which lasts x amount of time or until you hit a trigger to end it, but the panic event triggers and only last a few waves, this means theres no reason to continue to the trigger which is needed to open the next part of my map.
