well i finally got bf3 to work but now when i play sp i get this blocky shadows and watnot in areas where theres dynamic lighting on models mostly, cause with the ai's its not blocky. ( keep in mind that in mp it doesnt do this at all )
heres a screenshot of what i mean:

and here are my video settings for it:

i dont believe its my drivers for the gfx card as when i tried to play it the first time it said to update my drivers which i did and hence why i can now play it. Any ideas on how i can fix this buggy issue?

As a test try turning up your shadow quality, if your pc struggles then tame your texture quality down from ultra, see if that help. Also what GFX card are you using?

I see that antialiasing is off which could quite possibly change the way shadows are rendered if the developer decided to link that settings with shadows. However, shadow quality should be the link to what you are seeing.

I'm surprised your able to play without any video lag with ultra textures and medium quality across the board on that card.

Anti-aliasing can be quite a strain on most systems, and in a game like this with pretty visuals it will have quite an impact on performance.

I just tried everything on low, then on ultra and i cannot recreate the square shadows you posted..

i dont get me wrong i dont get them everywhere..but the most common areas that ive noticed them is in areas where the light is in motion even by a bit but even then its not always and even then i get triangular shadows unto the floor from stuff that isnt even there...its weird. imma update the drivers once more just in case.

Is that screenshot from the mission where you have to follow the wire down into that basement where you get attacked by the 'quick time event' guy? If so i will load it up and have a look, maybe that's just what its like.

Yeah it looks like that point in the game too. Im at that point now as well and I have not seen any indication of the issue being discussed on my system.
