Is it just me or has there been some strange things lately.

The most recent posts should have around 5. There's only 2-3 at times.

I can't connect to modsonline one time, the site keeps redirecting and say "site can't be found".

My private message is underlined even though I didn't.

One person spammed my topic one time.

There may be a few more. Just can't remember at the moment.

So is it just me or the site has something wrong.

I have seen the 'recent posts' only showing 2 or 3 at a time, but haven't experienced the other issues.

I'd love it if you could post examples of the issues you are mentioning here. If I can see the issues I can resolve them

Regarding the down website, we did just make a server move so that issue should not occur anymore. Welshy mentioned something similar to me this week and he hasn't experienced since.

There only appear to be between 1 and 4 entries listed for me at random.

Yeah, I sometimes get the same thing, where the recent forum threads section on the homepage only displays a few threads.

OK.. the limited threads issue. I know the reason and it comes with a story. lol.

When I moved over the new website, I realized that I missed adding the automatic script (cron job) that runs to grab "News from around the web". So I added that a couple days ago which caused a large number of threads to be found.

The script that displays the latest threads is set to skip all forum posts in "news from around web" unless someone posts a comment to that post. The script also only queries for the latest 100 posts. I limit it to 100 because I don't want to lag the site by reading too many of them.

So... of the latest 100 posts, only about 3-4 of them were not "news from around the web" and therefore only 3-4 posts were showing up there.

To help solve the problem, I upped the limit from 100 to 200. Hopefully that helps.

Mystic is right, it's the front page. I guess you got it fixed. I don't really understand the backstage of it, but it seems you got it fixed. This isn't a big deal though, just not consistent.


For the redirection/down of the site, I think you are right about the server move. When Welshy mentioned it to you, I think it was the same day it happened because as soon as I gain access to the site, Welshy was on. So I guess he told you then as soon as the site worked. I asked a few other people and they experienced no problem. So I thought it was just me at the time. I don't have the problem anymore now. At the time I thought I was blocked for what I said about the "future games" topic. BTW, you guys haven't responded yet, funny huh. lol


For the private message being underlined, I guess you have to check the message. This occurred today when I replied back to your message. I don't know if you will see my message being underlined but I don't think this is a big issue but just not consistent again.

the text in the forum posts is sometines not cuttet on the right side
i guess it occours if you add a code to the post

Thanks for adding the picture to your post. That helps me to see what you mean.
Seems the "code" posting is screwing up things a bit. I'll have that fixed in a jiffy.
