Hello.

I've searched high and low for an answer on how to create dynamic textures for CoD2, but all the results I found were on creating them for CoD1 or CoD4.

I'm working on a map that's supposed to be rainy and windy, so my goal is to create some textures that would look like they're moving in the wind (cables between telephone poles, bushes and trees swaying, etc.).

From the info that I've seen, CoD4 supports this through Asset Manager and CoD1 through shader files by using stuff like tcMod scroll/stretch - the one I'm particularly interested in is Quake 3's deformVertexes.

So, this brings two questions:

Does CoD2 support these material properties, and if it does, how do you create such a material?

Is it possible to take existing models (e.g. caen_hedgewall1/2/3), duplicate them under a new filename and make them use a different material (also duplicated from the original), and add these properties to the duplicated material files (so as not to overwrite the originals)? Also - considering these are bushes - are these properties available for alpha textures?

I'm trying to avoid doing completely new models when there are perfectly fine trees and bushes available that would just need these properties added to make it work.

Through some research I actually managed to get swaying textures (e.g. CTF flags) working on a hedge texture - confirming that it also works with alpha textures. This was done by making a custom texture with material type set to "custom" and using the template found in deffiles\materials\mtl_phong_flag.template, I just need to get rid of the hideous specular lighting.

The second question is still a mystery though.
