Don't worry.
The building instructions are only there to give some hints if you want to compile it. The two builds that I have made available are finished and only need to be copied to the ef dir, then started.

That *whoosh* sound you hear is all this flying over my head...

All you need to know is that Thilo is the man and everyone should bow to him. :p

Getting everybody together and establishing a common code base of fixes is an awesome idea. Not sure why it was never done before.

Of course, I'll also release Windows builds when I have some kind of "final release" put together :D

I have created a subversion repository with the Holomatch source code. As I have said above, my aim is to make this a stable codebase that can be used for all MODs that has bugs fixed and maybe a few new features as long as they don't affect gameplay.

At the moment, there are a few bugfixes and a fix on the SnapVector issue that affects jumping.
I also created a system of Makefiles that can be used in unixoid environments to compile QVMs and shared objects (DLLs on windows)

I encourage EVERY modder who modified the holomatch sourcecode to apply my changes to their mods to ensure compatibility with my soon to be released quake3 engine. There are not many changes yet.
You can probably see differences between two versions with any decent subversion client. Revision 1 is practically the original version from raven, a diff against the most recent revision will reveal ALL changes that I have made so far. *PLEASE* integrate these into your mods and recompile.

The subversion repository can be browsed with a web browser, too:
http://svn.kickchat.com/index.cgi/stvoy/trunk/

If you know about bugs in the holomatch code and got fixes for them, please tell me about it! I would be happy to accept all patches that improve the source but don't change general gameplay.

Tools to create / handle patches can be found here:
http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/diffutils.htm

A tool with GUI:

I'd just like to point something else here. :)

This engine is built upon id's latest point release of the Q3 engine, so regardless of whatever features may be added to it now, it is already far superior to the current EF 1.2 version. :D

I for one am very much looking forward to seeing this project's completion. ^_^

Great work Thilo! It's very impressive stuff!!
