Hello! I've been toying with the editor to get a feel for it. I'm NOT new to mapping, but I am new to Q4Radiant. So far I'm keeping it simple and decided to build a box with a pillar in it. Unfortunately, when I run the game, the pillar is invisible but has clipping properties. Basically, any brush within my "box" is not visible when the game is run but still prevents the player from passing through it. Sorry if this seems like a newb question, I'm new to the editor. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Also, compilation goes fine using the BSP option. No errors, no leaks but the problem still exists.

what is the texture that you are using? is it different than the texture you have on the walls in the room?

What did you use to create the pillars? are they world brushes, meshes, or something else?

I got it to work by applying two different textures.. who woulda thunk. I was using the default white/grey grid texture which is what seems to have been the problem. I tried to work with the editor a year ago, and had applied textures and had the same problem.. dunno why it would work this time. Either way.. sorry for the inconvenience.

Normally I don't like applying textures until the map is finished, is there a designated "design" texture that can be used?

Use the caulk texture as you base texture when building. You still won't see it, but it's the proper texture to be using.
