i'm trying to edit some of the stock weapon models to add/change some stuff to them
but i don't know how to get the xmodelparts/surfs working correctly for them
for now i'm just changing some stuff to the luger
after i convert the model and use it with the stock xmodelparts/surfs, the weapon works the same as the stock luger with the animations and everything, however my changes are not present. the skin has changed (though the remapping on it isn't) but that's all
though if i use the xmodelparts/surfs that it gave me when i converted it, although all the parts on my weapon are there, none of it has gone together properly and it looks the same as it does in milkshape (with the bolt around the trigger and magazine above the gun). and the hands don't hold it properly

so my question is how can i create the xmodelparts/surfs correctly so it works like the stock luger but with my addons? i'm not trying to make any new animations or anything, just to add some static stuff to the model

I amended a rifle mod years ago to suit my needs, It drove me nuts, but after sticking at it for ages not knowing what the hell I'm doing I finally got it sorted, OK' that's almost a tall story,

ok so i have somewhat "solved" it
i added joints to it in milkshape, but i don't know where to position them exactly, so it looks like a complete mess in game
the exporter i've used doesn't show the joint locations for the luger in the preview, and it doesn't extract them either

so how should i know where to position them?
is there a skeleton of the weapons somewhere i can import like for playermodels?

Ah, foot in mouth, I did not realize you were using milkshape, I tried that and failed and I doubt Gun uses it, Soz :(
