There is an easy program out there, I use it to fix my vis, sky etc etc etc but it also has the ability to convert BSP to MAP, comes in very useful when i bugger up a map. I wont however tell its name as people will obviously use it to rip off someones hard work. very good program actually just a pity it lets other rip someones map apart.

Before you say it yes I do on occasion use it on someones map but i always ask permission first and have their name as original creator revamped by me. not cod old RTCW one etc classic maps are hard to find

Strange that non of the mods here have EVER heared of such a program existing for CoD and than everyone who CLAIMS to have such a program won't give out the name.

Well i always use the original .bsp to make a remake of a map. But by no reverse engineering... i simply load it using the game and take about a gazillion screenshots then use mainly guess work to get a scale.

Me and PFB_Wolf have almost made a remake of mp_Rocket which will also be released alongside its .map file. So that anyone can take a look and modifiy it.

I think this is the best way of doing things... as it is NOT the original version but just the idea really.

Like I posted before, it is possible to convert codUO and cod2 bsp files to .map files, but if this tool is released ppl will steal maps and call them their own.

for now the only tool that will get released is for exporting stock models to .obj files, Regolith is working on it.

I've heard lots of people claiming it's possible, but I've NEVER seen any proof of it. I won't believe it until I actually see it myself.

Do you have this "bsptomap" converter? If so... can you prove it? I'll send you a .bsp file, you can turn it into a .map file.

This and many other topics about this question have been going since the day modding for cod became available! So without any proof or this 'decompiler' then it simpily does NOT exist.

Please can people just accept this and create maps using the tools which have been provided. If you can provide me with evidence that you have a program or there is a reliable source of information regarding this program i will apologise.

That being said i don't think this topic is going anywhere useful so it's about time to lock it!
