I know, as being of the generation who needs instant gratification, that I have become increasingly impatient with the slowness of the world around me. This has been recently manifested in the long wait to the new set of toys for modding COD:BO.

I have been patiently awaiting the arrival of said tools, since there half-hazard confirmation on August 24.

After many long week the game arrives and I began to check all the sources to hear of any new scrap of info regarding developer tools.

After an entire week, still no release, nor confirmation, nor any mention of the possibility of modding tools from any reliable source.

I may be too bold in saying this, but have they already forgotten about us? Or are the quietly and diligently working away to get the tools ready for release.

If this is the case (Fingers-Crossed) they should at least tell us how long until they are even possibly made ready.

The whole Video Game Industry's Silent Treatment has gotten rather old on all fronts.

Treyarch may indeed have a set date but they have not announced it as of yet. With all the complaint on the game i would imagine there main concern is fixing that first.

I wouldn't expect them too soon, best guess would be within the next 2 months but like i said, it's a guess based on the other tools.

Bullshit. You guys don't want mod tools. When did WaW get them? A few weeks after release? I demand them now. The longer we go without them, the better the chance we're never getting them. We haven't heard a peep since August.

And there's no reason whatsoever for unranked servers with no mod tools, too.

WOW!!! You are impatient.

I want them too. All of us mappers and modders want them. Is it possible that they are working as a team to get the main game and the servers running correctly? If the servers and such arent fixed and most of the players return to waw or mw2 then why would we need the tools then. I dont want to map for no one. I would rather there be a good fan base to enjoy our work.

There is lots of new stuff in the mp maps that shipped with the game. Is it possible or have you even considered the possibility that the tools are going to be different than what we have had in the past? I predicted tools within 100 days of November 9 2010. I stand by that prediction. And, Im ok with that time span.

Well you will have to wait another 1-2 months depending on the success in testing of the tools, With WAW they started working on the modtools earlier and had someone hired to do so. With BO they have had all the resources making the actual game so they just started working on tools after the game went gold so don't expect them anytime soon (they are also working on fixing the game which obviously have higher priority)

Yep - thats what i think as well. At least 1-2 if not 3 months. Mod support may be enabled before that, i hope!

Impatient? No. logical? Yes. Just because they managed to right MW2's wrongs so far doesn't mean I trust them. MW2 said the same poo-poo, and we got nothing. I don't believe a word anyone at IW or Treyarch or Activision says at this point, especially if it is "lol just wait a little bit"

I'd say Technical Director of the PC Team is a reliable source.

@Cornrow_Wallace thanks, man. mod tool dev started already. no bandwidth to discuss until after some patches though.
