Right, before I start explaining have searched this forum and have found numerous parts relevant to my problem but they do not help as they are explained to another person whos problem does differ slightly.

I followed the tutorial on the Treyarch Wiki And added in Zombie Spawn, pathnodes, spawns, breakable windows just for a test run. I Complied my map via the launcher and then ran the map and i could not spawn. After futher searching on this forum I got the idea i am to click "Create Map" in the launcher itself then open the map made a customize that to my zombie needs. Upon testing the standard SP (Without any changes just the 4 spawns) map you get made when hitting the "Create Map" button and then Launching My Game loads up then Crashed on the "Activision" part at the start.

If anyone can help me or idealy link me to a tutorial for start to finish on making a Zombie map. I mean this litrely as in " Open up your launcher......ect" Not just "Naming your map!" As that asumes you have the map geo already done.

Any help apreciated :) Feel free to ask questions [jumping]

Lots of people are having the problem. Load the SP game from your desktop icon NOT from the launcher.

In game click "mods" (if its in a mods folder) and select "usermaps" (again depending on where you ff is located) and then bring down the console: /map nazi_zombie_mapname

I have tried what you said, On starting the map up i see the activision thing spinnig around with a loading bar at the bottom, After the activision thing passes Normaly it should say "Click to begin" or another certain phrase. But for me it stays blank and jams my computer after the load bar is complete. I think this may be another problem :S

Im gonna try adding some Zombie stuff to the map and make a specific mod for the map and ill update on the new issues.

Feel free to reply still with other handy tips :D

Ive made the map into a proper zombie map followed the tutorials out there but yet i still get my black screen after it loads :S

i had the same problems i named the map with the lancher including nazi_zombie_ and name of map three letters that was the max. pressed i and deleted everything copyed my map to the new one and used the scripts from mods online codww supplements they seem to be a little different. changed all the names in the scripted to my map name and everything worked finally...hope this can help your problem
i did have the lock ups just like your saying

Right Finaly it loads but i get an error saying something like this



So its developed from just getting a permenent black screen.

Any help out there?

Have you looked in your [root]/maps folder to see if that file is actually in there? If it is, then one of your .gsc files has the wrong name OR one of the lines in the files referencing another file has the wrong name.

I think the reason why a lot of people are getting issues making the zombie map is because they are making a regular SP map and then trying to convert it into nazi zombie map.

I ran into this problem myself and since I had just started the map, I scrapped the first one and then made a new one from launcher, titling it as nazi_zombie_MAPNAME, working in that map file. And then to test out my geo, I saved a copy in radiant as a regular SP map (i.e. no "nazi_zombie_" prefix) and navigated the map as a spectator since there's no .gsc

My suggestion to any new zombie mappers is to get your zombies working first, and THEN create your geo. And of course adjust all of your zombie stuff once your geo is finished.

As far as I know...
Zombie stuff needed to test zombie mode:
0. Make a nazi_zombie_map using launcher and work in that file only.
1. Zombie character in your map with entities defined.
2. Path of pathnodes from your zombie character to your player. (default map has this already)
3. Create nazi_zombie_MAPNAME.gsc, nazi_zombie_MAPNAME_fx.gsc, nazi_zombie_MAPNAME.csv, and zombiemode.csv (the gsc's go in [root]/raw/maps)(the csv's go in [root]/zone_source)

*That's it... test it and get this part working* (I always get the ERR_EXE_HOSTALREADYCONNECTED error everytime it finishes compiling, just click accept or whatever and then bring down your console (~) and type "/devmap nazi_zombie_MAPNAME" and it should load your zombie map)

(optional below)
#. Then add a traverse and test.
#. Then add boards and test.
#. Then add a gun and test.
#. Then add a blocker and test.
#. Then add whatever else and test. (each ONE AT A TIME so you know when you are creating an error)

And THEN create your fancy geo and simply move/adjust your zombie items accordingly.

My map runs from the launcher.

i just made basic map like you suggested and i am getting same error as above. zombiemode utility script missing. i have checked and its there. do i need to reference it in my gsc or csv.


sorry for double posting. i only realised it was this topic that contained this error after i posted in the other topic.

Hmm... I don't know what else could be causing that problem. Are you creating a map using launcher and then following Hercule's tut on here for zombie mode?

My experience with those types of errors has been when I've mistyped an entity value. I would look over your zombie spawners for the utility issue, and the weapons stuff for the weapons error. It could also be that you typed in the wrong name, or even put in the wrong gun model. (try to use SP guns if you can, i.e. not MP)

Hopefully that helps!

If not, I'll remake a simple level and see if maybe I missed a step or something.
