If you are having trouble compiling your map, or you have done it and something is going wrong, remember to post your compile log along with your message.

This means we can solve your problem quicker and move onto the next thread quicker.

a friend has problem with compile because he had installed first cod uo in an other space (you know C:/ D:/ ...)
so he installed cod again but now in the c:/ space. he called the c:/ space something else i don't now what it was

i will tell him to go to modsonline and than to this topic or a new topic

Normaly it does some "0... 1... 3... - 7... 8... 9..." thing, not this time... Something is wrong and I have no idea what it is. [cry]

Try removing the "wcanka_autofaust_serverside_v1.pk3 " file from your /uo folder. It might help. You should always remove all non stock .pk3 files (especially mods) from your /uo and /main folders before mapping and compiling.

this means that it is not creating your .prt file, which means one of 2 things:
a) you have edited all of the errors out of your compile log
b) the leak that you created on "purpose" is preventing your map from compiling properly

Thanks, but I figured it out.

I made a little "marker brush", to mark how much I wanted to get done in one sitting... I textured it with the skin of a player model. Arn't I just brilliant?

So, I was laying down, pouting about all the work that was wasted when I thought about the marker, it seemed a bit far fetched, but... It worked...

So yeah, people, never use skins for textures on brushes.

Hope someone can help me out with this compile problem.
ive been trying to get my first map to compile for a few weeks but every time i run the bat file i save the log and delete all the terrain meshes that contain the errors but when i try an compile agian i get another list of errors in my map.

Imo you have a few main errors that I can see -

1 - You still have loads of custom maps in your main folder ( put them in a temp folder when mapping )

2 - Entity 799, Brush 4: duplicate plane. Delete this brush and draw it again to get rid of duplications.

I think this error comes up when you over manipulate a patch mesh or they don't line up well

4 - Entity 0, brush 3521: Lightmap allocation failed
Probably another mesh thats abit weird looking to the program. Try doing this one again as it's the main error that's stopping the completion of the compile

This usually means that brush no# 3521 is either too big, or has textures on a face that is inside another brush and can't be seen.

Use the find brush function and enter it's id number to find it, if it's a real big one, chop it in half or thirds. If it's not that big then check for the texture buried in another brush problem.

wow thanks ppl .....

ive just deleted the erronius brushes from my compile log and now ive just recompiled and got a single one of these:
Entity 0, brush 1944: Lightmap allocation failed

which ive found out is the top of my skybox!
i made it from six brushes with edges that are clipped to fit together, caulked all over except the inside faces which ive textured with the Textures/env/night2 textures.
any ideas on this one?
