I have put together a list of handy binds. Some help optimse, some help move/edit entities, some are just nice for testing. Most of this is rehashed for experienced people here, but i thought a list all in one place may help out some of the newcomers.

Feel free to add to this thread with any of the many others I have left out.

The keys bound here are in places i have found useful (some told by others), they could be any keys.

bind "-" "r_showtris 2" - - shows all triangles being draw - helps optimise

bind "=" "r_showtris 0" - - rehides triangles

bind "9" "r_showlightcount 1" - - shows light count as colors - helps optimise

bind "0" "r_showlightcount 0" - - disbles show light count

bind "h" "toggle g_dragentity" - - enables the ability to drag around ragdolls and moveables - hit again to disable - helps place ragdolls/moveables where you want them in your map

bind "j" "bindragdoll" - - binds the next ragdoll clicked into place

bind "k" "unbindragdoll" - - unbinds the next ragdoll clicked

bind "l" "saveragdolls" - - saves the map - positions of ragdolls saved to their entities - after returning to the editor, a reload of the map is needed to see the changes

bind "F6" "god" - - enables/disables god-mode - helpful in testing

bind "F7" "give all" - - gives full weapons, ammo and health - helpful in testing

bind "F8" "noclip"- - toggles the ability for you to float arourd the map to get where you want to quiker - helpful in testing

bind "F10" "com_showFPS 1" - - shows fps - - helpful in optimising

bind "F11" "com_showFPS 0" - - disables fps readout

"saveMoveables" - - saves the map - positions of moveables saved to their entities - after returning to the editor, a reload of the map is needed to see the changes

though this is old and no one may pay attention instead of using 2 keys for the same thing meaning this for exp

bind "9" "r_showlightcount 1" - - shows light count as colors - helps optimise

bind "0" "r_showlightcount 0" - - disbles show light count


u can use the same key buy typing this instead

bind "9" "r_showlightcount 0 1"

that way itll do enable when u hit key or if u hit key again itll disable that way u have more hot keys for other binds it works like a charm. my "F" key enables and disables com_showfps[rocking]

i have been wondering how to do this for a LONG time

can u tell me how to operate it?
